We hand-select pieces based on their patina and structural integrity, using traditional leatherworking tools to preserve the character of the grain. Each seam is hand-stitched using a saddle-stitch technique—a slow, deliberate process that ensures the thread will never unravel, unlike modern machine-sewn alternatives. This is not fast fashion; it is a commitment to longevity and the preservation of equestrian heritage.
Care & Maintenance
Antique saddle leather is a living material that deepens in character with mindful stewardship. To preserve the structural integrity and rich patina of your piece, we advise keeping it away from extreme direct heat and giving it a regular, gentle sweep with a soft, natural-bristle brush. The Experimental Design Born directly from an experimental study at the workbench, the Oddity No. II stands as a truly singular creation. This repurposed equestrian crossbody perfectly balances a tough, adventurous spirit with a classic, everyday shape. What makes this piece so distinct is its striking two-tone character; when the primary antique saddle did not yield quite enough usable hide, a second vintage saddle in a beautifully contrasting hue was brought to the workbench. The result is a completely unique, harmonious blend of historic leathers—a striking piece of wearable history.
The Salvage & The Tactile Experience The creation of this crossbody is a masterclass in material reclamation. Because we use original equestrian tack, the leather possesses a rich, burnished finish that only decades of true riding use can create. Every crease, mark, and scar across the contrasting hides serves as a physical testament to their past lives. This yields a deeply patinated, broken-in feel from the first day, alongside a rich, comforting scent that mass-produced leathers simply cannot offer.

Measuring 25cm wide and 15cm high, the stout, dark leather flap secures cleanly over a solid brass stud. Lifting this flap reveals a single, spacious 6cm deep main compartment, featuring a carefully stitched interior slip pocket to keep smaller items effortlessly organised. Carried comfortably via an adjustable strap repurposed directly from vintage bridle reins, the Oddity No. II acts as a physical fortress for your modern provisions.
